HARVIE LESLIE (LES) DUNN (March 27, 1897 ? Aug. 22, 1967) Stepfather of Alice (Crall) Keeney
Harvie Leslie Dunn was born March 27, 1897 in Camelsville, Kentucky.
Les moved to Walla Walla, Washington from Kentucky when he was eight years old. He worked
as a gardner in the Walla Walla area until his retirement, and was a member of the First
Church of God. He married Ida Loa (Crall) in 1949.
Children by a previous marriage were: Mrs. Frank (Dorthy) Reifsnider of Walla Walla, three sons; Lloyd Robert Dunn of Dayton, Washington, Harvie Leslie Dunn, Jr. of Walla Walla, Washington, and Captain Harold Edward Dunn with the U.S. Navy in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Les, in his retirement years, was an addicted fisherman, and spent many
enjoyable hours with a fishing rod in hand and his favorite bottle of beer in the other.
When he and grandmother came to visit, he especially looked forward to
'Corn on the Cob', which my wife, Roberta, always did prepare for him.
He was well-liked by the Keeneys, and was known as "Grampa
Les". It was a great loss to us all when he passed away on August 22, 1967. He is
buried in "The Dunn Plot", in a cemetery in Walla Walla, Washington.
A Keeney Family Genealogy was established in 1986
& has been online ever since under one name or another.
