Hello Everyone,
      I start this issue on 14th August 2003, There is one new directory since the last issue & was sent as an e-mail attachment that was sent by Raymond E. Kinney asking the question  WAS ALEXANDER KEENEY A SCOT?

 Is this going to be the last newsletter? Maybe I have had very little information come in since the last newsletter, and the volunteers that WERE helping with the Keeney UpDate have not sent in anything since v4#2 which was the fall issue of  2002. Should I give up on this project too?

In the Miscellaneous section is a list of Keeney's and a couple of others that had Keeney as a middle name or were married to a Keeney That served this country and are buried in some of our National Cemeteries.

I was told that John T. Keeney's wife... Molly was Cherokee Indian and walked the trail of tears with her mother, whom died on the trial. I once had a picture of John T. Keeney, and was told that he was Irish, with bright red hair. The photo was lost in a house fire. (not the original, just my copy)
