Hello Everyone,
Has it really been two years since the last issue?
Again there is very little to share, as only one item has been contributed.

The volunteers that were helping with the Keeney Update project have not sent in anything, so there is no new old issues posted. I still have not replaced my scanner so I have not been able to do it on my own and this includes Wagon Ruts West.
Most of this issue contains items that were left in my guest books or sent n by mail.

NOTE: I've set up a new forum and guest book

Dear Mr. Keeney,
I am researching the former town/gold camp of Keeneysburg. Do you know of any sources of infromation on this site and the people that lived there besides the US Census and the book by Bob Powers?
Thank you,

Hi Dan,
Yes I am researching the Keeney genealogy. My Dad was John Edward Keeney, Sr. His Dad was Benjamin Franklin Keeney, His Dad was John Keeney, His Dad was Moses Keeney (who married Francis Harris). I started this about 5 years ago, and now all Dad's family is dead. It is hard to find info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Star

I have been working on the James Pearl family descendants and recently Silas Keeney and his wives. I have additional information beyond what you have posted at a site http://www.keeneyklan.com/newsletter/V2/n7/
kfgJUNE2000.htm#Found%20online

Also, my great grandmother was Marinda Michael Pearl Keeney. There is additional information on her too at the Pearl site:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sengercm/pmil.html
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sengercm/pearlja.html

I have been trying to get more evidence that the Silas Enoch Keeney of Union Co OR was the son of the Silas Keeney of Linn Co OR (your #13) but have about given up. Hope to post the update in a day or two.

Clyde Senger

My name is Karla J. Keeney Lukey. I live in Joplin, Missouri, and was born in Harrisonville, MO in 1954. I am interested in information about the Keeneys. I'm not sure where we come in at, but my father's name is Charles Elmer Keeney. My grandfather's name was Eura Keeney, and he moved to Idaho before I was born. He remarried and had 2 more children, Ralph Keeney, and
Cheryl Keeney. I have an Uncle named Eura Keeney, Jr., and an aunt named Wanda Keeney Farrell. I have a picture of my Grandpa Eura Keeney's parents, I believe. Do you have any information about the Keeney's in Missouri, especially Harrisonville, MO, or Kansas City, MO? I would like to know where we originate from. Any information you can give me would be appreciated!
My e-mail address is: klukey@proct.net

Thank You!

Joshua's Tree

I never had an interest in History

Until I studied Family Genealogy.

I have traced several lines of Ancestry

Plus, I've found many generations in my son's descendency.

The furthest back of the Keeneys, we usually get

Is "Sir Thomas", a Scot, made a Baronet

In the 1500's by a king named James

Then fled to Holland when King Charles came.

In the 1600's, a son, John and wife Sarah Cheever were next in line.

They settled in a place called Salem

Where some Keeneys lived in a time

When the "Witch Trials" upset this haven.

While in England, John's son Alex had married Alice Gates.

Their son, Joseph, a mere baby, landed in the future United States.

Joseph wed Hannah Hill, naming the next son after his father.

Another Alex took his place in the line we continued to gather.

Next, were Thomas and Josh, sons of Alex and his wife Eunice House.

Thomas fought three years in the American Revolutionary War.

Settling in Pennsylvania and New York,

He married Miss Mercy Lamb, a "feisty" French woman as his spouse.

1776 brought the birth of Thomas the Second and our Nation.

Tom Two married Miss Anna Parshall,

Who brought 7 children plus twins, Elisha and Elijah, to his parcel,

As he fought in the 'War of 1812' at his station.

Miss Lucy McArthur married Elijah the twin,

And in 1862, their son, Alex, found the Civil War to join in.

Gettysburg wounded him a year later in the fight,

Hospitalized; until he returned to his wife, Becky White.

Next, came Ezra and Minnie Brown;

Minor and Suzie Vargason;

Followed by; Grandfather Wayne with Emma Anderson.

Wayne joined the Navy at age 19. As a young man

He fought during World War Two on a ship in Japan.

Which brings me to the last, so far, of everyone,

His dad, myself, and Josh Keeney, my son.
